This project will give the school age children at Discovery Preschool an educational and fun curriculum for the summer. It will be an extension of the education foundation they have completed at the end of their school year. It will be a way for the children how have educational and fun experiences during their summer at Discovery Clubhouse.
I executed my edge program by designing a School age curriculum so that the children at Discovery preschool will had a fun educational summer.
I achieve this goal by meeting with the assistant director at Discovery Clubhouse on a weekly basis to show her my progress and for her to provide feedback so I could make any adjustments needed for that classroom. I was able to get resources, informational books and personal experience through my friends that are educators, the support staff at the center, the assistant director and the director of the school. Inducted the ideas from the children. I wanted them to feel like a collaborative asset to their educational summer. Therefore with the vast amount of assistance I was provided I was able to provide them with educational and fun activities throughout their summer. I was able to go on many of the field trips I had planned as well as see many of my activities be executed.
Since I designed a School age curriculum, I learned about more educational resources and was able to collaborate with other teachers. I know because I designed a school age curriculum that I learned how to plan and organize educational activities. This project familiarized me with Utah’s Core Educational Standards in my future job becoming an Elementary Education Teacher.
These outcomes we're not just met but exceeded. I learned a plethora of knowledge while doing this project. The feedback and collaborative efforts of my educator friends and colleagues provided me with realistic views and helpful hints into writing and executing an effective curriculum. As you can see in the pictures provided, I was able to write curriculum in many different topic. These outcomes were met by consistent research and feedback provided by the assistant director at Discovery Clubhouse.
