Cedar City student designs fun summer for Cedar City kids.

Cedar City November 29th 2016

Local Southern Utah University student Kimberly Hanson has decided to use her talents 2 help a group of kids add Discovery Clubhouse have a fun and educational summer. N Southern Utah University has a prerequisite to graduation which requires their students to complete a project of their choosing. Kim Hanson chose to increase her abilities and knowledge and offer local kids a fun-filled summer.

Kim designed a weekly themed curriculum to continue their education throughout the summer. Kim enlisted many teachers in the local community to help her on her quest to achieve her project for the children of Discovery Clubhouse. She was able to achieve this goal allowing the children mini weekly themes such as Ancient Egypt, Wild Wild West and one of their favorites Harry Potter week. The children were able to help plan their ideas and felt a personal connection with their summer fun. With the help of the assistant director at Discovery Clubhouse Bri Ferrow Kim was able to help execute many of her activities and field trips.

Discovery Clubhouse is located near ladybug nursery and has a great educational based curriculum. This high-quality facility teaches children from 6 weeks through 12 years old. The teachers have a passion and love for children as well as Kimberly Hanson. Kim’s passion was the driving force to completing her project. You could see Kimberly's passion and love for the children as she actively engaged them in her projects as well as the planning that went into their summer. We were so excited to have Kim help Discovery Clubhouse and the children to be able to continue the learning that they have in Iron Springs County throughout the summer. ###
